Ather Energy, a Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler start up has announced that the delivery of Ather 340 and Ather 450 electric scooters will commence on September 10.
On June 5, 2018, the two models were launched. The keys of first set of Ather electric scooters will be handed over to the customers by Tarun Mehta, the Co-founder and CEO and Swapnil Jain, the Co-founder and CTO at the Ather Vehicle Factory in Whitefield, Bengaluru.
For now, it will be available in Bengaluru. But, the company will expand their band to 12 major cities by 2020.
Both the model follows same styling, features and dimensions. However, the only difference is that 450 will offer better performance when compared to the other model.
Ather 340 features 4.4kW motor with a torque rating of 20Nm and it claims a top speed of 70kph and a 0-40kph acceleration time of 5.1sec. However, 450 is powered by a 5.4kW motor producing 20.5Nm of torque and claims a top speed of 80kph and a 0-40kph run is completed in a quick 3.9sec.
The company, AtherGrid claims that 80 percent of the battery can be charged in 50 min.
