On October 9, 2018, Honda will introduce its new CR-V SUV in India. Earlier this year at Auto Expo2018, the company had confirmed about its India launch.
The updated version will be larger than the outgoing model and will be equipped with two engine options for Indian market. In India, this is for the first time that CR-V will be offered with a diesel engine. In order to reduce the cost, Honda has opted to introduce the single-turbo rather than the twin-turbo version of the engine in India.
Following a standard form, the engine will be mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission with paddleshifters along with an option to drive in all-wheel drive.
Honda will be offering the model with a manual gearbox. The other gearbox option available will be a 2.0-litre petrol engine mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The CR-V for India will be coming with a powered driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control and a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The expected price is Rs 28 lakh (estimated, ex-showroom).
