The Japanese luxury automaker unveiled Lexus ES, the entry level sedan in India. However, the company already launched the new 7th generation ES in the 300h or hybrid only spec a few weeks ago in India. This is for the first time the company is officially showcasing the car in India.
The new Lexus ES follows flamboyant design language. The price of sedan starts at Rs. 59.13 lakh (ex-showroom).
The new sedan is larger than its predecessor. It is now 66mm longer, 5mm lower and 45 mm wider than its predecessors and gets a 50mm longer wheelbase too. It comes with a larger and more chrome festooned grille along with distinct slashes on either side of the bumper giving it a very sporty appearance.
For the first time ever, the model will be offered in F-Sport model.
The Lexus ES300h features a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder motor that is mated to a hybrid powertrain. More than its predecessors, the model combined is rathed at 215 bhp.It is mated with an 8-speed gearbox.
In India, ES is available only with a hybrid power train; the fuel economy is rated at an impressive 22.37 kmpl. 10 airbags and a host of electronic passive driver aids are available for more safety.
