The wife of former three-time Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif, Kulsoom Nawaz died today at a London hospital.
In June, she was admitted at London’s Harley Street Clinic for cancer treatment. Her health deteriorated last night. Earlier, in the day, she was placed on life support system.
As per reports, she had also developed a lung-related problem.
In August 2017, it was confirmed that Kulsom was suffering from lymphoma (throat) cancer. Later she was shifted to London for treatment. On June 15 she developed a cardiac arrest and this in turn forced to shift her to ventilator.
For three consecutive terms from 1990-1993, 1997-1999 and 2013-2017, she served as Pakistan’s first lady.
She was 68 years old.
