State-run bus fell into the valley in Telangana’s Jagtial district. As per reports,the accident killed 57 people and injured 30 people and are undergoing treatment in different hospitals. The deceased people included 36 women and five children. Most of them were pilgrims returning to Jagtial from the temple town of Kondagattu.
The accident occurred on the ghat section of the section of the road near Shanivarapet village which is about 200km from Hyderabad. Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the accident as ‘shocking beyond words.’

Modi tweeted the incident as “The bus accident in Telanganas Jagtial district is shocking beyond words.Anguished by the loss of lives. My thoughts and solidarity with the bereaved families.I pray that the injured recover quickly,”
Finance Minister Etela Rajender said that “The bus is new, driver was also experienced. It is a dangerous route. Earlier also there were accidents. We will take all precautions by developing this road or diverting.”
Though the Telangana caretaker CM announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh but Telangana state Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy demanded Rs 10lakh for the families of the deceased.
