‘Cook for Kerala’ campaign started to help flood-hit Kerala and is winning the hearts of the people. In order to support the campaign, chefs from all over the world have joined the campaign initiated by the executive chef Suresh Pillai at the Raviz Hotel Kollam.
The executive chef got the inspiration from #CookforSyria campaign launched across Europe which has provided aid to millions of children caught in the Syrian war.Even he has been bringing together chefs and homemakers from different areas to raise funds for the flood affected people.
As a support to Suresh’s campaign, several hotels and chefs in London and Germany came forward by contributing their share for the flood victims.Among the world’s top 50 restaurants, Gymkhana restaurant in London added an optional £ 1 to every bill in September.
The amount raised in this way will be used to rebuild and rehabilitate the worst affected parts of Kerala. Other restaurants like Kricket Soho in London and Chutnify in Berlin are also supporting the campaign and funds will be donated to CMDRF.
