The US National Hurricane Centre said that Hurricane Florence weakened into Category 2 hurricane as it moved towards the east coast of the US. Though the hurricane Florence is weakened but huge storm and heavy rainfall is expected.
The Miami, Florida based weather forecaster said that, Florence was located about 325 miles east-southeast of Myrtle beach, South Carolina with winds of 110 miles per hour. However the NHC warned that Florence is still a threat to a wide stretch of the US Eastern Seaboard. The key measures for hurricane florence goes like:

David Fountain, Duke Energy North Carolina President said that ‘Florence is so massive and its potential for damage so extensive that people could be without power for a very long time.’ Hurricane force winds will reach the coast of the Carolinas by Thursday and the storm is not expected to leave the region in the next two days. US President Donald Trump has authorized emergency measures and as per reports 1.7 million people have been warned to evacuate their homes.
