Today, Rahul Gandhi, the Congress president made new outburst of allegations with the ruling BJP and the government it leads. This time, his target is Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He alleges that they helped businessman Vijay Mallya to flee from the country in 2016. Along with all these, he also took aim at PM Narendra Modi.
Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “Mallya’s Great Escape was aided by the CBI quietly changing the “Detain” notice for him, to “Inform”. The CBI reports directly to the PM. It is inconceivable that the CBI, in such a high profile, controversial case, would change a lookout notice without the approval of the PM.”
Yesterday, both BJP and Congress attacked each other, with Rahul Gandhi repeating his demand that Arun Jaitely, the Finance Minister should resign, accusing him of “colluding with” Mallya and “allowing the criminal to flee.”
However, BJP dismissed all the charges. In addition, union minister Piyush Goyal countered that Gandhi family’s “relations” with Mallya caused banks to sanction loan money to Mallya by violating all the norms.
Vijaya Mallya had fled India when a debt Bank in Banglore was about to act against him for defaulting on loans issued by several banks. The court finished hearing the case and will pronounce its verdict on December 10.
