Just after three months of its global unveil, Triumph Motorcycles India has announced the launch of Scrambler 1200 in India in January 2019. On Oct 24, the global unveil is scheduled.
The bike follows scrambler styling. In addition, it gets an engine sump guard, hand guard and high mounted, twin exhausts that boosts its appeal. It is likely to ride on a 21-inch front wheel and 19-inch rear wheel with dual-purpose tyres that further add to its off-road capabilities.
Similar to the Bonneville Speedmaster and Bobber, the bike sports a circular full-LED headlamp.
The machine will be equipped with rider aids, traction control and ABS which can be managed through the TFT-instrument display. It is likely to be powered by a 1200cc, parallel-twin motor that produces 96bhp and 112Nm of torque.
It is expected to be offered in two variants; standard and ‘R’.The standard model is expected to get Nissin brake calipers on both ends and suspension hardware sourced from KYB, the higher-spec ‘R’ likely to be equipped with Brembo brakes and a Ohlins suspension setup.
It is expected to be retailed around Rs 10.6-Rs 11.1 lakhs. In India, once after its launch, it will compete against the Ducati Scrambler 1100 and BMW R Nine T Scrambler.
