At the Intermot in Germany, Indian Motorcycles revealed the FTR 12OO, the “street-tracker.” The bike will be available in two variants, standard and 1200 S.
The base model will feature an all-black paint job with the engine, wheels and side-mounted twin exhausts finished in black. However, the 1200 S gets a gold-finished forks with a black/grey and grey/red paint scheme.The model is also available in a “Race Replica” colour scheme of black and red. In red, to add more finished touch, trellis frame and rear monoshock were added.
The version rides on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels with Dunlop DTR-3 dual-sport tyres for a flat-track motorcycle appeal. In order to highlight that aggressive riding position, upright handlebars, long tank and rest set foot pegs were added. On the rear mudguard, the number plate is mounted on a short tail section.
Full-LED headlamp and tail lamp along with LED turn indicators are features of FTR 1200. The machine is equipped with 4-inch analog instrument cluster, the 1200 S sports a Bluetooth-enabled 4.3-inch LCD display. Sport, Standard and Rain are the riding modes offered by FTR. A traction control system, wheelie control and a lean-sensitive stability control system are features of FTR 1200.
The bike is powered by a 1203cc, V-twin engine that produces 120bhp and 115Nm of torque. A under-seat fuel tank of 13 litres with a kerb weight of 221kgs.
The standard bike will be retailing at Rs 9.53 lakhs while the 1200 S retails for Rs 11 lakhs. It is expected that the launch of FTR 1200 in India will happen early next year.
