India took 1-0 lead over West Indies as they overthrown the opposite team by an innings and 272 runs at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium at Rajkot on Saturday.
India scored 649/9 in their first innings and wrapped up their rivals for 181 and 196 runs in the first and second innings respectively to fix their 100th win in Test at home.
Kuldeep Yadav(5/57) and Ravichandran Ashwin(4/37) showcased outstanding performances in bowling. The test will be best remembered because of the performances of Prithvi Shaw, who made his test debut remarkable with a classy century and became the youngest Indian to do so. Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja were the other centurions.
