Without the traditional Christmas cake, there is no fun in X’mas celebrations. The making of the caking is not that easy and simple, so The Holiday Inn at Cochin began its celebrations in its full swing with the “Cake Mixing Ceremony” which was held on 5/10/2018. The joyful atmosphere of the Inn was inviting with the aroma of coming X’mas cakes.
The invited guests, invitees and the staffs at Holiday Inn has geared up with aprons,caps and gloves to take part in the fun filled ceremony. The ceremony was inaugurated by the filmstar Baburaj and the guests and staffs joined him to make the occasion a grand success.
As we all know, the first step to make a cake is the mixing process, which is formally called as the ‘Cake Mixing’, which was followed all over the world as a part of tradition. This tradition was said to be a sign of good tidings and it shows the coming of Christmas happiness.In the ancient times, the cake mixing was celebration of togetherness, family members use to gather at home and it was a reunion.
In the cake mixing ceremony, the assorted dry fruits were mixed with spices like cinnamon,ginger and sufficient amount of wine and imported liquors and it will be stored under the festive season. While speaking to our reporter, the Executive Chef at Holiday Inn, Jitendar Nakhwa said that “We are doing the cake mixing ceremony with 2000kg dry fruits like apricots, alomonds,dates and nuts which includes cashews and also tuttifruiti were added in it.All these will be soaked in imported liquors for almost two months,”
This time Holiday Inn is expecting to prepare almost 5000 cakes. The General Manager of Holiday Inn expressed his excitement and talked about the team-work which made the occasion a delightful event. This time the whole Holiday Inn team is coming up with the plumy cakes which adds more happiness to the coming X’mas.
