At the Denmark Open, Kidambi Srikanth, the World number six defeated Lin Dan for the second time in his career to reach an all-Indian quarterfinal against Sameer Verma.
On Thursday night, he defeated the world number 14 from China 18-21,21-17, 21-16 in the second round clash.
Lin Dan was a two-time Olympic gold medallist and five-time world champion met Srikanth for the fifth time. In 2016 Rio Olympics, the Chinese great won the match.
Later today, Saina Nehwal will also play her women’s singles quarterfinal against eighth seed Nozomi Okuhara.
