Private sector bank HDFC has reported rise in its net profit on Saturday. The HDFC bank has reported a 20.6 percent rise in its net profit to Rs.5,005.73 crores for the second quarter ended this fiscal.
The bank had registered a net profit of Rs. 4151.03 crores in the similar quarter of 2017-18.
The total income of the bank for the quarter has increased by 21.2 percent to Rs. 28,215.2 crore against Rs. 23,272.2 crore.
Net interest income, or the difference between interest earned on loans and that paid on deposits, increased 20.62% to Rs 11,763.41 crore. It was Rs 9752.07 crore in the corresponding period last year.
By the end of the second Quarter the net NPAs or bad loans has fell to 0.40 percent of the net loans against 0.43 percent.
