According to a recent study, the side effects of drugs in lungs are more widespread than we all knows about it. The research was done by University of Manchester and has been published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine.
The drugs which are used for the treatment of arthritis, cancer and heart are very much effective for most patients. As per the research, we should be more aware about the potential risks to the respiratory systems.
According to a review, 50 percent were reported with interstitial lung disease every year, among them 25 percent of the patients were died as a result of respiratory systems. To treat DIILD, the most common drug used is steroids but nobody has examined about the side effects of it.
Dr Nazia Chaudhuri, from the University of Manchester said that “Doctors need to be aware and vigilant to the possible lung toxicities and harm that can be caused by some drugs. With newer drugs coming on the market this is an increasing yet under recognized problem and we need better ways of detecting these side effects before they cause harm.”
