President Maithripala Sirirsena has announced that, the Sri Lankan Parliament will reconvene on November 14, which he had suspended after firing Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe .
The announcement came on Sunday amid rising demands by legislators of the state to end the ongoing political crisis in the nation.
Maithripala Sirisena had suspended parliamentary proceedings until November 16th after sacking Ranil Wickremasinghe and replacing him with former president Mahinda Rajpakshe.
According to an official gazette notification, the parliament will now meet on November 14th .
Sri Lanka is facing a political turmoil after President Sirisena fired Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe. And this move by Sirisena is termed as “Unconstitutional” as the Constitution of Sri Lanka doesnot support the sacking of Prime Minister without having majority in the parliament.
