Jalaj Srivastava, an Indian Administrative officer has been appointed as the chairman of the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI).It comes under the Union Ministry of Shipping,Road Transport and Highways and presently it is headed by Nitin Gadkari.
Currently, Srivastava is working as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture. He is expected to take charge on Tuesday. Also he had served as chairman of New Delhi Municipal Corporation and Principal Secretray, Department of VAT.
Srivastava is known for launching the ‘Shakti Cab’ project and ‘URJA’ project for women. To promote culture and sports, he had started “Rahagiri” event that takes place every Sunday in the capital city. Also, Srivastava is the writer of a crime thriller novel “The Perfect Suicide.”
