Wreck-It Rallph, the sequel to ‘Ralph breaks the internet’ is better than the first part. It is much bigger and more entertaining. Wreck-It Ralph is also heartfelt when it does get the time between the Zillion product placement and Disney owned character mentions including Star Wars and Marvel Characters. The sheer enormity of these product mentions like Amazon, E-bay, Pinterest and the like maker the movie soul less. Sometimes it gets so much that you start wondering if it is Ralph breaks the internet or is it the internet breaks Ralph. Other than that the movie is a compelling watch, doing away with the regular Disney villians this time. In this Disney movie the villian is the insecurities in the friendship between Ralph and his friend Vanellope. Disney also pokes fun at its own legacy several times throughout the movie especially, the Disney Princessess’ sequences. The second half of the movie breaks away from the initial visual overload and finds its footing. Wreck-It Ralph is sure to give joy to Disney fans and also Star Wars and Marvel fans.
The Prince Of Thieves is back, we have Taron Egerton, the KingsMan playing Robin Hood this time. Its been only a few years since the last Robin Hood was released. And this time they have made sure another one will not be made for long time if ever at all. I mean, how hard it is to make a movie with an already established well known and beloved story. The new Robin Hood is so bad that it is good. Why do filmmakers try to change a much loved story? Are they so stupid to understand that the story is being adored for a reason and doesn’t need any changes. I guess some egos think they were better than the millions of fans out there. I sincerely, hope the enormous failure of a new robin hood would open atleast some eyes in the movie industry, though I doubt it. The egos in that world can tend to be bigger than the world itself. Robin Hood has garnered nothing but bad, bad and bad reviews. With the enormous success of some superhero movies, the filmmakers I think wanted to make Robin Hood into one too. Thank God ! they didnot put Taron Egerton and Jamie Foxx in the tights and make them fly. But I am sure they tried that. Robin Hood shot down.
Rocky Balboa is back. Sylvester Stallone is doing what he does best. If you look at the best Rocky movies most would rank them in this order. Rocky, Rocky II, Rocky Balboa and Creed. The rest of them looks like video games with comic book villians. Three out of the four in that ranking had one thing in commonbesides Stallone using his fists. They also had Stallone use his pen. Whenever Sylvester Stallone wrote the screenplay for a Rocky movie he made sure there was more to the movie than just fists being thrown in a rink. He made sure the movie had a soul. And this time writing the screenplay for the first time after Rocky Balboa, Stallone lets his inner Wordsworth out. Creed II is not a sequel to only Creed but also to 1985’s Rocky IV and 2006’s Rocky Balboa. Creed II provides what the best of the Rocky franchisee can offer. It gives redemption to many characters in the series. To Rocky to Rocky junior, to Adonis Creed, to Apollo Creed and to Rocky IV’s Ivan Drago. The boxing sequences like in all Rocky movies is the best. This time the emotions also run high. Creed II has one of the most emotional endings of the Rocky series. For those of us who grew up on the Rocky movies Creed II is a must watch and for those who want to be newly initiated Creed II is a good start and then you can go back to watching earlier Rocky movies.
