The family members of Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh who was killed by the mob after the violence broke out over the alleged cow slaughter in Bulandshahr meets Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his residence.
Inspector Subodh Kumar’s wife, two sons and sister came to Lucknow from Etah to meet Chief Minister. After talking to his family members Chief Minister ordered higher- level probe into the matter. He also promised to pay the loan that was taken for the education of children. Earlier, Yogi Adityanath had declared Rs.40 lakh compensation and government job for one of the family members.
But the family members had rejected the grant and demanded to build a memorial in honour in his honour at their native place.
Yogi Adityanath was only talking about cow slaughter and not about the murder. He was criticized by the Opposition for keeping silence in the matter. The main accused in the case of killing Police officer is Yogesh Raj, who is a Bajrang Dal activist. He is missing since the incident.
On Monday, violence broke out citing alleged inaction by the officers over the repeated complaints regarding illegal cow slaughter. The violent mob started throwing stones at the Police station. Inspector Subodh Kumar who arrived to control the mob was killed in the attack. A local resident was also killed in the incident.
