PV Sindhu created history by becoming the first Indian to win the prestigious Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tours Finals. PV Sindhu beat the Japanese Nozomi Okuhara 21-19, 21-17 in the finals.
Sindhu presented her best performance in this tournament. The 23 year old star reached the finals after beating Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand in the semi-finals .
Sindhu had lost the World Badminton Championships twice and ended up as the first runner-up in the previous season.
In the last two years, Sindhu had lost in the finals of Rio Olympics, Commonwealth Games and Jakartha Asian Games and settled for silver.
