The much awaited trailer of “The Accidental Prime minister” is unveiled today. The film was based on the controversial book of Sanjay Baru, who was a former advisor to Dr. Manmohan Singh.
The role of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is played by Anupam Kher. Akshay Khanna plays the character of Sanjay Baru.
The story is adopted from Sanjay Baru’s memoir “The Accidental Prime Minister-The Making and Unmaking of Manmohan Singh”. The characters in the film has adopted striking resemblance with the real life personalities. Anupam Kher has tried to carry the mannerisms of Manmohan Singh and he almost looks like Dr. Manmohan Singh. Akshay Khanna’s character is also seen as the narrator in the film.
While the role of former Congress President Sonia Gandhi is played by Suzanne Bernert and she is almost similar to Sonia Gandhi in the looks, Aahana essays the role of Priyanka Gandhi and Arjun Mathur plays Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi.
The film focuses into the internal politics of the Congress party. The book written by Sanjay Baru alleges that the powers of the cabinet was not under control of Manmohan Singh, instead he was under the control of Congress party’s president Sonia Gandhi.
The film is helmed by debutant director Vijay Ratnakar Gutte and produced by Sunil Bohra and Dhaval Gada. The film is set to release on January 25, 2019.
