Actor Prakash Raj on Saturday announced that he will contest the Loksabha elections from Bengaluru central constituency as an independent candidate.
Prakash Raj announced his entry into politics on January 1st. He also thanked people for the support given to him to enter into the politics, he tweeted, “2019 PARLIAMENT ELECTIONS. Thank you for the warm and encouraging response to my new journey.. I will be contesting from BENGALURU CENTRAL constituency KARNATAKA as an INDEPENDENT..will share the Details with the media in few days (sic),”
Prakash Raj will contest against BJP’s PC Mohan who has held the Bengaluru Central since 2009. He has been severe critic of BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He raised voice for his friend and notable journalist Gauri Lankesh, who was shot dead.
He also claimed that, the offers from Bollywood has decreased after he started criticizing the Prime Minister.
Prakash Raj is one of the most prominent actors of South India. He is the third actor after Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan to announce the entry into politics within a year.
