On Wednesday, BCCI issued show cause notices to Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and K L Rahul. The notices were sent to them for their comments on women on a TV show.
The comments made by Pandya on “Koffee with Karan” made a massive outrage and was criticised as sexist and he apologized for his remarks. But Rahul has not yet responded to the criticisms towards him.
As per reports, Vinod Rai, chairman of the Committee of Administrators of BCCI said that, “We have sent showcause notices to Hardik Pandya and K L Rahul for their comments. They have been given 24 hours to give an explanation,”
In response to the criticism, Pandya took to Twitter as “After reflecting on my comments on Koffee with Karan,I would like to apologise to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in any way.” Also he added that, “Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone’s sentiments. Respects.”
On the show, Pandya opens up about his physical relationship with multiple women and how he opens up about it with his parents. As per reports, BCCI added that “It will be considered whether players should even be allowed to appear on such shows which have got nothing to do with cricket,”
