On Saturday, six protesters have been arrested for holding a demonstration against the screening of “The Accidental Prime Minister” in Kolkata.
On Thursday, while the screening was about to start, the protesters with the Congress flag entered the auditorium in Kolkata’s Quest Mall and they damaged the screen which made to cancel the show and was shouting slogans against actor Anupam Kher who did the lead role in the movie .
Also the Congress protesters threatened the audience and asked them to leave the hall and claimed that they would not allow to screen the film as it contains certain disrespectful scenes against the senior party leaders.
One of the Congress leader who led the protest said that “The film is an insult towards our senior leaders like Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Manmohan Singh. We have stopped the screening here.We will not allow the film to be screened anywhere,”
The movie is based on the facts written in the book by Sanjaya Baru, who was Manmohan Singh’s media advisor between 2004 and 2008.
