Two soldiers, including a major were killed in an Improvished Explosive Device (IED) blast at the Line Of Control (LoC) in Rajouri of Jammu & Kashmir on Friday.
The Army Major with roots from Kerala Maj. Shashidharan. V. Nair, 33 was killed in the blast . He was from Pune and is survived by his wife Trupthi Shashidharan Nair.
The IED blast took place around 3 pm near Naushera sector in Rajouri. “An army officer and a soldier got grievously injured. Immediate resuscitation and medical aid was provided. However, they succumbed to the injuries,” said the army spokesman.
The IED was planted by Pakistani troops along the tracks of LoC to target the Indian Army. Pakistan has regularly used snipers to attack the Indian army.
