Popular South Indian Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam recently made headlines with his sexist remarks on heroines’ dressing. The legendary singer was attending an event where he criticized actresses for wearing outfits, which according to him was “revealing”.
A Entertainment website has quoted him saying , “These days, actresses don’t know what kind of dress they should wear for film events. Should their behaviour be taken as an act of innocence? Or do they think that only if they wear revealing outfits will heroes and directors give them opportunities? We have reached an all-time low.”
He also added, “I wouldn’t mind even if my comments anger the heroines. In any case, most of them don’t know Telugu, so they won’t understand my comments.”
SP Balasubrahmanyam, popularly known as ‘SPB’ has sung around 40,000 songs in 16 different languages. He has also acted in many Tamil films. He has won six National Awards as the “Best Male Playback Singer”.
