Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar arrived at the CBI office in Shillong for the second consecutive day today for questioning in related to the Sarada chit fund scam. Rajeev Kumar was accused of allegedly involving in destroying of the key evidences in the case.
Mr.Rajeev Kumar was questioned by the CBI for nine hours yesterday. CBI has also asked TMC MP Kunal Ghosh to appear today.
The 1989- IPS cadre was the head of the Special Investigation Team probing Sarada chit and Rose Valley fund scams. It is alleged that he destroyed key evidences related to the case. Rajeev Kumar ignored several summons issued by CBI over past two years.
Yesterday, CBI began questioning him at around 11 am and continued upto 7: 30 pm. The Officials didn’t revealed the details of interrogation. They have to know whether Mr. Kumar is acting on someone’s instructions.
Rajeev Kumar is accompanied by three Kolkata Police Officers and has been lodged in the city. A team of CBI officials from Delhi arrived to Shillong to question him.
Supreme Court has ordered Mr. Rajeev Kumar to “faithfully” cooperate with the CBI officials in the matter.
