Congress never spoiled any chances to hit at BJP and Prime Minister Modi, and now the chance was given by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari with his recent comments. Congress hit at the BJP and pointed it as an attack towards his own party and Prime Minister.
While addressing a gathering near Pune on Sunday, Nitin Gadkari said that “We do not believe in casteism…I do not know about you but there is no place for caste in our five districts because I have warned everybody that if anyone talks about caste, I will thrash him.”
In response to Gadkari’s critical comment, Congress tweeted and said that Mr. Gadkari had once again directly attacked Narendra Modi and the BJP.
The tweet goes like : “Gadkari Ji has spoken out against the politics of religion- a policy followed by the BJP,” Adding to same, it asks “When will you thrash those who ask for votes in the name of Hanuman Ji’s religion?.”
Earlier, many BJP leaders made comments on the caste of Lord Hanuman. Recently, Savitri Bai Phule, former BJP parliamentarian said that “Lord Hanuman was a Dalit and a slave of the manuwadi people..”
Also a UP BJP councilor, Bukkul Nawab said that “I believe that Lord Hanuman was a muslim. That is why the names of the people in Islam are almost similar to lord Hanuman, whether it is Rehman, Ramzan, Farman…” Over the past few weeks, Gadkari’s comments gave chances to Congress to point finger towards the BJP.
Recently, Congress leader Sharad Pawar said that “ Nitin Gadkari is my friend. We have worked together. There is talk about his name being pushed as an alternative to Narendra Modi and because of that I am worried about him,”
