The Supreme Court on Monday issued stay on the verdict disqualifying Koduvally MLA Karat Razak.
Supreme Court gave permission to Karat Razak to attend the assembly meet. At same time, he is disallowed from taking part in the assembly voting and restricted him from receiving any considerations as MLA.
The Kerala High Court disqualified LDF backed independent candidate Karat Razak for involving in corrupt practices during the assembly elections in 2016.

The petition against MLA was filed by the Koduvally residents KP Mohammed and Kunjhi Moideen alleging that Karat and his followers spreaded video clips aiming to harm the image of his opposite and IUML candidate MA Razak.
The Apex court granted conditional stay on considering Karat’s plea seeking time to file an appeal in the Supreme Court.
