Supreme Court of India found former CBI Interim Director Nageshwar Rao guilty for the contempt of court on Tuesday.
The bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi punished former Interim Director Nageshwar Rao for the contempt of court in Muzaffar Shelter Home case. Along with him Additional Legal Advisor S. Bhasuran was also punished.
He was found guilty of contempt of court for ordering transfer to an officer in Muzaffar Shelter Home case.
The Apex Court ordered both of them to “sit in a corner of the court, till the court rises”.
The Supreme Court, by rejecting their apology, directed them to pay Rs.100,000 as penalty and asked them to stay in the court till it rises for the day.
Attorney General KK Venugopal, who appeared before the court for CBI informed the court about their unconditional apology and also requested to be lenient towards Ex-CBI Director considering his 32 years career as a incorrupt police officer.
