On Sunday, Cricket Club of India(CCI) Secretary Suresh Bafna said that India shouldn’t play against Pakistan in the upcoming World cup. CCI secretary Suresh Bafna expressed his point in wake of the terrorist attack in Pulwama.
He said, “ since Pakistan Prime Minister has not yet come with any explanation on the attack, it shows that they are at fault somewhere”.
He urged Pakistan Prime Minister’s respond to the incident if the country doesn’t involve in the deadly attack.
“We condemn the terror activities carried out against our army and CRPF personnel. Though CCI is a sporting association but nation comes first even before sports,” said Suresh Bafna.
As a mark of protest the CCI also covered Pakistani captain and Current Prime Minister Imran Khan’s picture at its headquarters in Mumbai on Saturday.
The 2019 World Cup is scheduled from May 30 to July 14 at England and Wales. India will play against Pakistan on June 16 at Old Trafford.
