On Monday, Actor Mohanlal,actor-choreographer-director Prabhudeva and musician Shankar Mahadevan received their Padma Awards from President Ram Nath Kovind in New Delhi.
Earlier this year, 112 awardees were announced and today they received their honours. Actor Kader Khan was posthumously honoured with the Padma Shri. Earlier, last December Mr. Khan died at the age of 81.
Superstar Mohanlal received the Padma Bhushan,which is India’s third-highest civilian award. Already, he has won five National Awards for his work in the films Kireedam, Bharatham,Vanaprastham,Pulimurugan.
After receiving the Padma Bhushan, Mohanlal said that “It’s a great honour. It’s a great achievement as an individual, as an actor. It’s my 41st year in the film industry so I’m giving all the credit to my colleagues, my family and those who supported me in this beautiful journey,”
Prabhudeva, the man of talents received the Padma Shri. Prabhudeva is appreciated equally for his skills as a dancer and choreographer in songs such as Urvasi Urvasi and as an actor in Kadhalan and other films.
After receiving the Padma Shri, Prabhudeva tweeted as “Thanks for all the love you all gave. Your love gave me this award. I dedicate this award to the love you all gave,”
Singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan received the Padma Shri and after receiving the honour, he said that “A lot of my music has been created with my two partners-Ehsaan and Loy so, I would consider them as equal recipients of this,”
